met his icon Sammy Davis Jr at The London Palladium
when he was a boy and has now created a tribute
show, in his own words"To the greatest
entertainer who ever lived"
Watch and listen to Ray's powerful tribute to Sammy
Davis Jr, as he sings some of the best-loved songs
from Mr Entertainment's extensive repertoire, and
takes you on an emotional journey you will long
remember from The Candyman and Mr Bojangles
to his heart rendering acapella version of Old
Man River.
Ray C is a quite stunning tribute act to the great
Sammy Davis Jr. Aided by some nifty make-up, Ray
C also manages to achieve a lookalike status, but
it is the remarkable voice that is the key. The
question is of course, will 2007 audiences within
the tribute market be aware of Sammy Davis Jr? I
do hope so, for people of a certain age, this guy
can provide a quite wonderful cabaret performance.

From being a "Child Prodigy" to his outstanding tribute
to Sammy Davis Jr., Ray C is a talent to be reckoned with.
He began his professional career at the tender age of
ten, performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra,
The Ted Heath Big Band & The Jack Parnell Orchestra, supporting
such stars as Sir Harry Secombe, Frankie Vaughan, Tommy
Steele, Billy Fury & Sir Rolf Harris.
Classically trained and blessed with perfect pitch Ray
is constantly in demand as a studio session singer due
to being blessed with perfect pitch and a natural ability
to harmonize. His wide vocal range and warm tone gives
an individual sound once heard never forgotten. He has
toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK appearing
at the London Palladium, the Royal Festival Hall and The
Sporting Club Monte Carlo, plus appearances on UK & European
television. |
