JESSICA JONES lived
and worked in South Africa in the 70s and 80s, performing
in cabaret, TV and theatre. Her first single, “Baby
I Love You” stayed in the radio charts for an
unprecedented 23 weeks. She followed that with a huge
hit, “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday”, for which
she received three gold discs. Her two albums, produced
by none other than Mutt Lange (Shania Twain’s
producer and husband), and Trevor Rabin (of Yes fame)
resulted in several more hits. She has also appeared
with the likes of Dobie Gray, Bob Marley and, not least,
Rolf Harris and has toured New Zealand with Blue Mink.
Jess has one admission – she doesn’t like
singing – she loves it!
CHRIS TEW spent his formative years playing in very
successful local bands, then was asked by Kelly Groucutt
(of ELO) to join him and other former members to record
and tour with “Orkestra” – a great
experience and a superb band – two albums, three
tours and a film (sorry, movie) in Miami – a hard
life, but somebody’s got to do it! He then went
on to build his own studio, producing and creating tracks
for artists from the Emirates, Ireland, the Caribbean,
Italy, South Africa and home-grown talent from all over
the UK. At the same time he has been playing in Midlands
top sixties band “Session 60”, again with
Kelly – loving every minute of it!
Jess and Chris get on like the proverbial “house
on fire”, finding real enjoyment in each other’s
talents.
